Kortext is a leading eTextbook provider, serving universities globally. We are recruiting a Digital Content Ebooks Analyst to support Kortext with our eBook content.
Kortext has seen significant growth in the last 12 months and this role is key to driving our expansion by continuing to build on this success. The ideal candidate is an experienced Digital Content Ebooks Analyst with knowledge of the internal structure of PDF and ePub files, wider tools and utilities, and a love for books! Reporting to the IT Project Manager this role will be key in diagnosing and resolving issues and technical incidents with PDF and ePub files with an analytical and problem-solving mind.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will need to understand the internal structure of PDF and ePub files, so that you can diagnose issues, explain these to non-technical stakeholders and developers, both internal and external.
- Resolve individual technical incidents with ePub and PDF files and then design and implement solutions to recurring content ingestion problems.
- Develop workflow automation using tools such as Python, Azure Power Automate, RPA, and third-party platforms as required.
Education & Experience:
- Bsc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant commercial experience
- Strong XML, ePub, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PDF experience.
- Development skills in a modern language such as C#, Java or Python – primarily backend server-side skills rather than full stack.
- Ability to use an EPUB and PDF editors is essential.
- Readium and IDPF / W3C Publishing experience is desirable as is experience and knowledge of the tools, utilities and services available in the wider PDF and ePub ecosystem.
- A background in supporting a fast-growing business is preferred
- Strong organizational, communications and stakeholder management skills.
