As we continue to expand our market share, we are now looking to recruit an Analyst Programmer to join our Business Automation and Partner Integration Team on a fully remote basis.
The Role
As an Analyst Programmer, you will join our hybrid Waterfall/Agile environment and focus on delivering a range of Digital Transformation, automation and partner integration projects
Your role will also involve:
- Taking part in fortnightly sprints, daily virtual stand-ups and ITIL based IT Service Management
- Supporting the Architectural design of solutions, services and applications
- Helping develop use cases/user stories, estimating, sprint planning and learning from retrospectives
- Developing new systems and services using Python and relevant technologies
- Designing and implementing automated testing processes for new systems/services
- Supporting end-users with User Acceptance Testing
- Providing support for live applications, through ITIL based incident and problem processes
- Ensuring business process monitoring is in place and service delivery is being optimised
About You
To be considered as an Analyst Programmer, you will need:
- At a minimum, five years' commercial IT experience developing high-performance back-office or Server-Side applications
- To be a classic T shaped developer, with broad business and full life-cycle IT development skills
- An understanding of the importance of outstanding customer service, be able to focus on immediate needs and/or outcomes whilst keeping sight of the strategic roadmap
- A love of books and making these available and accessible to as many people as possible
- To be a self-motivated, lifelong learner, with a proven ability to learn new skills in a quickly evolving IT and Business landscape
- Solid communication skills and/or soft skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work alone, remotely and also as a member of a remote working team
- Excellent emotional intelligence, awareness of the needs of other people and how you respond and adapt to them
Python may not be your first or primary language in the past, but we need you to develop and support applications primarily written in Python and to develop your skills further in this area. If you have outstanding skills in another language, have done some previous commercial work in Python and are prepared to put in the effort to become a great Python developer, we would love to speak to you!
Experience of Quote to Cash and Purchase to Pay business process workflows, in a subscription-based SaaS business, Retail or wholesale, would be beneficial to your application.
Experience with any of the following would also be desirable: Salesforce, the book and/or Publishing industry, API and/or EDI Integration, XML processing, serverless Python applications with Azure functions, Kafka, Docker, GIT Version Control, API and/or Micro Service Development and/or Microsoft Power BI.
Experience or skills with any of the following within Azure would also be advantageous: Azure platform (fundamentals, concepts, architecture, storage & compute), Logic Apps, Managed Database, DevOps, Cognitive Search, Kubernetes Service (AKS).
A basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, would be equally favourable. Excellent Python skills, and experience with Django or Flask web frameworks, to allow the creation of simple internal administrative interfaces and APIs would also be an advantage, as would excellent SQL skills.
