Kortext is the UK’s leading eTextbook provider, serving universities globally. We are recruiting the role of Publisher Account Manager to help drive content acquisition, sales and our commercial relationships with publishers.

The post holder will support Kortext’s UK and international market expansion to then develop revenues in partnership with key Publishers.

Reporting to the Director Strategic Partnerships, the Publisher Account Manager will work collaboratively with other members of the Operations and Commercial Departments as well as other Kortext employees. The role will have a particular focus on relationships with the respective publisher sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial:

Supporting the Director Strategic Partnerships building and maintaining commercial relationships with publishers

Contracts:

Working with new publishers to secure contractual agreement to sell their content
Woking with existing publisher partners to expand permissions for new territories or products
Using Kortext standard contract templates
Working with the Director Strategic Partnerships to agree modifications and final sign off

Quotations & Back Office Functions:

Working with colleagues to request publisher content & pricing
Assisting to negotiate enhanced supply terms
Working with the publishers to agree pricing matrixes and metadata feeds
Feeding in to the B2C and B2B pricing processes

Additional:

Contributing to platform and service development discussions
Updating the CRM with all product team activity per business rules
Keeping clear records of activity
Managing a project pipeline for the role
Feeding into company reporting processes as required

Education & Experience:

A proven ability for self-learning and development
2+ years’ experience in a similar role is highly desirable
Strong listening skills, attention to detail, tenacity and the ability to self-manage
Academic book trade experience would be a significant advantage, although experience from commercial, marketing and product development roles would also be considered

Technical skills:

High level of competence in various word processing, spreadsheets and presentation tools including advanced Excel, MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
Knowledge of content platforms and educational technologies preferred
Must be comfortable demonstrating online and app software using various devices and platforms, i.e. iOS, Android and Windows
