Product Manager: Library Products / Kortext Applications / Kortext Ecommerce



Kortext is a leading provider of higher education Teaching, Learning and Digital Textbook platform. We partner with most leading higher education textbook publishers and content providers to develop products that enable students to conveniently and effortless access readings and study tools. In this role, you will help define, validate, and deliver unique, valuable features and capabilities for the Kortext Products, directly impacting institutional library workflows, reading list management processes, teaching, and learning in Higher education institutions.

About This Job:

The Product Manager is responsible for creating the strategic product roadmap(s) and vision for Library Products / Kortext Applications / Kortext Ecommerce from conception to launch, working with multiple cross-functional teams to drive, deliver and communicate the product strategy and value.

As Product Manager, you will:

Work closely with the Head of Products and be accountable for the full end-to-end experience for key user segments including strategic product planning, product evaluation, roadmap development, and execution

Leverage a solid understanding of the end-to-end user journey experiences, define the requirements and to drive improved experience and outcomes

Use analytical skills to ask the right questions, create, organize, translate, and cross reference requirements

Understand and blend existing and emerging competitive insights into strategic plans

Collaborate directly with User Experience team to define and deliver best in class digital experiences

Use iterative product development methodology to identify, iteratively develop and minimize risks in alignment with Kortext development processes

Work with Delivery team Business analysts to help clarify detailed requirements when needed

Work horizontally across delivery, quality assurance, user experience, infrastructure, and user representatives.

Articulate product vision, documenting both short-term plans and long-term strategy

Represent the product and seeks to understand the value and impact to user experience that results from the development or alteration of data-driven features

Help to communicate openly and facilitate transparency and accountability

Maintain an in-depth understanding of Kortext product offerings, business models, performance statistics and dependencies

Qualifications:

A proven ability to deliver great product

Experience driving the product vision, go-to-market strategy, and design discussions

Working knowledge across many functional areas - product management, engineering, UI, UX research

Bachelor's degree

At least 5 years as a software Product Manager or relevant experience to the role

Strong technical background blended with a high level of business acumen and customer-centric thinking


Nice to Have:

Familiarity with Content Management

Experience with Process centric products and solutions

Experience with Higher Education Library Management solutions and ecosystems

eBook experience

Certification or equivalent work experience as a Product Manager in one or more agile environments


Location and Travel:

This position is primarily remote, work from home, with an option to work and meet in Kortext’s office in Niagara on the Lake. Minimal travel should be expected once it is safe and reasonable to do so.
